Collegiate Recruitment
Are you a college or university woman interested in joining a sorority?
You have come to the right place! The Greater Naples Alumnae Panhellenic is a group of over 100 women who have enjoyed the sorority experience beginning with our college days and extending throughout our lives as alumnae. We are members of the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) organizations that are listed on this page. The NPC Creed for undergraduates states that “We, as Undergraduate Members of women’s fraternities, stand for good scholarship, for guarding of good health, for maintenance of fine standards, and for serving, to the best of our ability, our college community. Cooperation for furthering fraternity life, in harmony with its best possibilities, is the ideal that shall guide our fraternity activities.”
You will need to check your college or university’s website to find out the dates for recruitment on your campus, the documents required to sign up, and the deadlines. This is often under the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life, but can vary from campus to campus. A good resource for learning more about sorority life is www.TheSororityLife.com. This site discusses the sorority experience, the recruitment process, terminology, and what it means to be a sorority woman. You can also follow The Sorority Life on Instagram (@sororitylifenpc) which will have ongoing updates.
You will hear about Letters of Recommendation. Each organization has its own policies for Letters of Recommendation, but in general they are beneficial because you will be introduced to the chapters on your campus prior to actual recruitment. You might want to ask your neighbors and friends if they or anyone in their families are sorority women who would be willing to write letters for you. But please do not think that you must have a letter for each NPC organization on your campus. If an organization requires recommendations/references, it is that organization’s responsibility to promote and secure such requirement.
If you would like for members of Greater Naples Alumnae Panhellenic to write Letters of Recommendation for you, please send an email to: NaplesPanhel@gmail.com, and your request will be sent to our member organizations. Please attach your resume including the college or university that you will be attending and your deadline. You may use whatever format you choose, but you can click here for a sample form which shows the types of information needed.
Notable shifts in recruitment have occurred in recent years regarding Legacy Policy, Letters of Recommendation, and Recruitment Styles. A detailed discussion is available on the National Panhellenic Conference website.
We wish you the best in your college career!
